Job Title: Adult Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adult Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at the Defence Medical Services. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist mental health services to serving armed forces personnel and entitled personnel.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in adult community mental healthcare, with experience of working with individuals with mental health problems. You will be able to provide flexible and individualised care packages, and have robust clinical risk assessment skills.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide a high-quality mental health service to patients referred to the Defence Medical Services for assessment and treatment of mental health problems.
  • Manage a clinical caseload, delivering optimum personal and professional standards to assist the care process.
  • Act as a clinical and educational resource to Medical Officers and General Practitioners, offering advice on mental health matters and administrative management of personnel with mental health difficulties.
  • Deliver up-to-date, evidence-based interventions for mental health problems, including individual, group, and tele-therapy.
Requirements:
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse or graduate level professional with background in mental health.
  • Substantial post-qualification training and experience in at least 2 evidence-based psychological therapies.
  • Accredited or eligible for accreditation from a recognised body (BABCP, BACP, UKCP).
