About the Role

This part-time fixed-term position is an exciting opportunity to work with a national training and education specialist, Learning Curve Group. Our organisation is committed to delivering high-quality education and training programs that transform lives through learning.

As a Support and Development Coordinator, your primary responsibility will be to provide structured support to learners with additional needs, utilizing a range of effective interventions as outlined in their EHCP Plan. You will also aid access to a full range of learning experiences and provide modified materials as required.

You will work closely with tutors to make necessary adjustments for learners with learning support needs and ensure that Learning Support Plans and contact logs are updated accurately and timely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide positive reinforcements, praise, and emotional support to learners
  • Advise and support tutors with making necessary adjustments for learners with learning support needs
  • Ensure Learning Support Plans and contact logs are updated accurately and timely
  • Work as part of the team to ensure that the well-being and personal development of the learner enhance their learning opportunities and life skills
  • Agree on learning support aims and interventions with the learner and set these out in the Learning Support Plan
  • Provide regular feedback to the SENCO and, where necessary, relevant outside agencies about any pupil's difficulties and progress
  • Contribute to the Learners' annual review by writing a brief report and attending the meeting
  • Foster links with External Agencies and Carers
  • Facilitate inclusion in small group activities with learners and support interaction between them
  • Attend in-service training and relevant meetings relevant to the post in order to keep up-to-date with developments
  • Carry out tasks and responsibilities under the direction of the SENCO
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience working with Post 16 Learners
  • Knowledge and experience of working with Post 16 learners with Educational Health Care Plans (EHCP)
  • GCSE, 'O' Level or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English
  • NVQ3 or equivalent as recognised by the National Occupational Standards for Supporting Teaching and Learning
  • Knowledge and understanding of the different social, cultural, and physical needs of Learners
  • Have training in aspects of SEN, i.e. ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism, Dyspraxia, SEMH, hypermobility etc
  • Calm and patient attitude
