About the Role

The Major Gifts and Philanthropy (MGP) Team Research and Information Manager will play a critical role in supporting the growth of income across MGP, ensuring that concept notes, proposals, and reports are written for the most strategic work, and that MGP relationship managers are informed of projects in need of funding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective research strategies to identify and engage with major donors and corporates.
  • Manage the Research and Information Executive, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality research and intelligence.
  • Collaborate with the MGP team to develop and implement fundraising strategies, ensuring that income growth is focused on raising the funds needed to achieve short and long-term organisational priorities.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on donor research and intelligence, ensuring that the MGP team is equipped to make informed decisions.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in writing donor proposals and securing funds for significant donations from major donors and corporates.
  • Specialist prospect research skills and an understanding of the methodologies and research resources required to carry out research.
  • Ideal candidate will have a knowledge and awareness of international development and humanitarian aid, although this is not essential.

The role of the Major Gifts and Philanthropy (MGP) Team Research and Information Manager is a unique role within the sector and CAFOD. Working across MGP (which is made up of Major Donors and Corporate teams) as well as others, such as the Trusts and Foundations Team, it has been developed to meet the growing needs of planning and reporting across MGP and to ensure income growth is focused on raising the funds needed to achieve short and long-term organisational priorities.
