Role Overview

Early Break is seeking two experienced Counsellors to join our Emotional Health and Wellbeing team. As a Bereavement and Loss Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting the emotional wellbeing of young people in our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage with young people who require emotional health and wellbeing support, providing assessment, consultation, and counselling interventions.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver training, group work, and education sessions to young people in education settings or the community.
  • Work within the BACP ethical framework and key principles, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for young people.
  • Develop and deliver education sessions and group work to promote healthy relationships, risk management, and emotional regulation.
  • Adhere to Early Break's policies on safeguarding, including identification and referral, and participate in subsequent actions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partners to ensure seamless access to support for children and young people.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant knowledge and best practices through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of the team's work.
  • Implement health and safety policies and procedures, including risk assessments.
  • Attend relevant meetings and engage in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of emotional health and wellbeing principles and practices.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with young people and their families.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
