Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SEN Support Assistant to join our team at a reputable primary school in Preston. As a SEN Support Assistant, you will be working closely with a child in Year 3 who requires 1:1 support due to moderate learning difficulties and social and emotional difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide full-time support to the child in order to enable them to access and engage appropriately with mainstream school life.
  • Work closely with the school's SENCo and fellow SEN Support Assistants to develop and implement strategies to support the child's learning and well-being.
  • Collaborate with parents to ensure cohesion between school and home.
  • Support the child in developing their social and emotional skills, including managing challenging behavior.

Requirements:

  • At least 12 months prior experience in a similar role, either in a mainstream primary or secondary school, a specialist provision, or as a Support Worker or Carer.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of strategies and techniques to support children with SEN.
