Job Title: WAAM/Robotic 3D Printing Laboratory Manager

We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual to manage our Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) 3D printing Laboratory at Imperial College London. As a key member of our technical management team, you will oversee the laboratory's operations, providing technical support to undergraduate and postgraduate students, and collaborating with our academic staff on research projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the laboratory's infrastructure, including cost information, programming, and support for research projects.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Services Manager, Principal Investigator, and Co-investigators to ensure the laboratory's role in teaching and research.
  • Provide technical support to students and staff, including managing industrial projects.
  • Develop and implement health and safety practices associated with laboratories and workshop facilities.
Requirements:
  • HND (or equivalent) in an engineering subject.
  • Excellent understanding of WAAM/Robotic 3D printing techniques.
  • Working knowledge of gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), and gas metal arc welding (GMAW).
