Job Title: 3D Printing Operator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled 3D Printing Operator to join our team at Fab Pub Ltd. As a 3D Printing Operator, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating our digital fabrication machines, including 3D printers of different formats.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up, operate, and maintain 3D printers in compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Work closely with the team to ensure smooth production and communicate effectively to ensure a high-quality output.
  • Maintain a tidy and safe workshop, adhering to all safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Keep up with health and safety requirements, job queues, and brief the team accordingly.
  • Understand task specifications and desired results by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc.
  • Use appropriate software for tasks, such as slicers, and preferably Rhino and Grasshopper.
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines.
  • Prepare test runs to check machine outputs according to specifications.
  • Supervise machines while they execute tasks and make necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
  • Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate a large number of parts.
  • Conduct quality inspections of finished products.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines daily to ensure functionality.
  • Provide status and production reports of the machines.
  • In conjunction with Operations, check budget and expenses for the department.
  • Execute routine checks to ensure stock of material and consumables.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with 3D printers.
  • Familiarity with quality inspection procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and follow processes with high accuracy.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
  • Computer savvy with a basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM.
  • Mechanical aptitude and good maths skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation skills, and aptitude for analytical problem-solving.
  • Attention to detail with a hands-on and proactive approach and problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and experience with working in a team.
  • Able to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods of time on solid surfaces.
