Position Overview:
The 3D Jewellery CAD Specialist is an integral part of the Product Development Team at De Beers Group, working closely with the Creative Design Team to convert 2D designs into intricate 3D CAD models. This position plays a vital role in enhancing designs, ensuring a seamless and innovative process from initial ideas through to product realization and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
3D Modelling: Collaborate with both the Design and Product Development teams to produce precise 3D models based on 2D sketches and illustrations, maintaining fidelity to the design vision.
Design Enhancement: Work alongside the Creative Design Team to refine and advance designs for bespoke Couture pieces and collection jewellery, integrating feedback to elevate the final output.
Prototype Creation: Assist the Product Development team in transforming approved designs into polished, production-ready CAD models, making necessary modifications to adhere to quality benchmarks and design objectives.
Documentation & Visual Representation: Generate comprehensive visual assets and technical documentation, including 3D renderings and technical schematics, to facilitate internal evaluations and compliance requirements.
Production Coordination: Support the Creative and Product Development teams by conveying design specifications and 3D models, aiding the transition from design to manufacturing.
Legal Support: Provide the legal teams with technical design imagery and development assets to assist in legal proceedings related to new designs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a 3D CAD Design or 3D CAD Technician capacity.
- Background in 3D printing technologies.
- Familiarity with 3D rendering software such as KeyShot.
- Proficient in Rhino, Matrix, JewelCAD, SolidWorks, or similar 3D modelling software.
- Experience in using CAD rendering tools to produce high-quality visual representations of designs.
- Skilled in 3D printing software and machinery, with hands-on experience in prototyping and creating physical models.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and techniques, particularly within the jewellery sector.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally, providing clear guidance and direction.
- In-depth knowledge of the diamond and luxury jewellery market, including trends, materials, and industry dynamics.
- Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, both in writing and verbally, across various stakeholders.
- Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail.
Additional Information:
Occasional international travel may be necessary.
