Job Description

Role Overview

The British Academy of Jewellery is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Digital Design Educator to join our team. As a key member of our academic staff, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the field of digital design, with a focus on Computer Aided Design (CAD) and jewellery manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver high-quality teaching and learning materials, including lectures, tutorials, and assessments, to students on our jewellery design and manufacturing courses.
  • Conduct research and stay up-to-date with the latest developments in digital design and CAD software, to ensure that our curriculum remains relevant and effective.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum changes, and to ensure that our courses meet the needs of our students and the industry.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students, and contribute to the development of our student support services.
  • Contribute to the development of our academic policies and procedures, and participate in quality assurance and enhancement activities.

Requirements

  • Relevant undergraduate and postgraduate degree in a related field, such as digital design, CAD, or jewellery manufacturing.
  • Experience of teaching and assessing students in a higher education environment, with a focus on digital design and CAD.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD software and jewellery manufacturing processes, and the ability to apply this knowledge in a teaching and learning context.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and students.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
