Digital BIM CAD Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Technician to join our team as a BIM CAD Specialist. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in the implementation of digital deliverables, ensuring all outputs are produced to a high standard in accordance with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting Engineering Teams: Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and implement digital deliverables, ensuring all outputs meet project requirements.
- BIM Level 2 Support: Provide BIM Level 2 support from creation of documentation to validation and As Built Close Out.
- 3D CAD Model Management: Manage 3D CAD models, contributing to your specialized discipline and supporting other engineering disciplines as required.
- Project Delivery: Assist in the delivery and management of projects from technical design to construction stage, ensuring compliance and delivery to project standards.
- Quality Assurance: Responsible for implementing best practice and consistent processes across the project, including liaising with project stakeholders and the supply chain to ensure correct standards are applied.
- Quality Standards: Responsible for quality processes and quality standards of all drawing deliverables.
- Design and Construction Drawings: Lead the production of high-quality design and detailed construction drawings for specific elements of railway station projects, ensuring integration with overall project information models.
- Drawing Output: Produce drawing output from 3D model information in line with the Component Catalogue and outline information within the BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
- Project Requirements: Ensure all drawings are submitted and meet the project requirements set out.
- BIM Coordinator and Manager Support: Support and liaise with the BIM Coordinator, BIM Manager, and wider project joint venture team in the implementation of deliverables adhering to specified project standards and to facilitate issue resolution.
- Data Management: Ensure accurate and timely information flow and adherence to data management standards.
- Quality Assurance Checks: Participate in quality assurance checks to ensure they meet the project's accuracy, detail, and the employer's information requirements.
- BEP Compliance: Assist in monitoring compliance with the BEP and the supporting project standards, contributing to regular reports on BIM deliverable status.
- Discipline Coordination: Work closely with other disciplines to ensure the 3D CAD models are integrated and coordinated efficiently, attending regular coordination meetings as necessary.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to project team members on BIM-related issues.
- Experience: CAD Technician with at least a minimum of 3 years' experience in major infrastructure/transportation projects.
- Engineering Production Environment: Experience of working in an engineering production environment.
- UK BIM Standards: Experience of delivering projects to UK BIM Standards including BS1192 and ISO 19650.
- Bentley Software: Proficient in using Bentley software including ProjectWise, OpenBuilding Designer, Bentley RaceWay (preferred) and Microstation.
- Technical Development: Demonstrated experience in leading the technical development of 3D CAD components from conceptual design through to detailed construction models.
- Teamwork: Experience in working within multidisciplinary teams, contributing to the cohesive development of integrated project deliverables.
- UK Design Standards: Good knowledge of UK design standards, such as Network Rail, HS2, and TfL.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to new BIM technologies and workflows, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
