SEN Education Support Worker Job Description

About the Role:

This SEN education support worker role involves providing one-to-one support and supervision for pupils, fostering engagement in learning and working towards specific aims and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pupil Support: Offer professional support and supervision for pupils, enhancing their engagement in learning.
  • Personalised Learning Plans: Develop and implement personalised learning plans tailored to pupils' specific needs.
  • Behaviour Management: Assist the classroom teacher in managing pupil behaviour and creating a positive learning environment.
  • Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor and record pupils' progress, providing feedback as required.
  • Resource Development: Prepare educational materials and resources to support learning activities.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the teaching staff to achieve the best possible outcomes for pupils.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 months of experience working with SEN children in the UK.
  • Active DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Availability for full-time work during term time only.
  • Passion for working with children with special educational needs.
