Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated bilingual co-worker to join our Community Children's Therapy Service at Beatrice Tate Special School and Mile End Hospital in Tower Hamlets. The successful candidate will work closely with our Speech and Language Therapy team to provide support to young people aged 11-19 with eating, drinking, and swallowing difficulties, as well as those with complex medical needs and severe learning disabilities.

Main Responsibilities

The post-holder will be responsible for providing bilingual support during referral triage, assessment, and intervention, running groups and workshops, and carrying out intervention plans with the support of the therapist. They will also be required to deal with queries, manage patient data, and perform administrative tasks within the special school setting.

Working with Our Team

The Community Children's Therapies team provides physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language therapy for children and young people up to the age of 19 in Tower Hamlets. Our services are delivered in clinics, schools, nursery settings, children and family centres, and homes. We work closely with partner organisations to build the capacity of other professionals and parents to support families at a 'targeted' level.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a Level 2 qualification in both maths and English, as well as evidence of continuing professional development within their current or previous roles. They will also have experience of working with children with special educational needs or Disability (SEND), as well as administration tasks within a healthcare, educational, or office setting.
