Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our Community Children's Therapy team as a Bilingual Therapy Co-worker. The successful candidate will provide bilingual support to our Speech and Language Therapy team, working with young people from 11 to 19 years who have eating, drinking, and swallowing difficulties, including those with complex medical needs and severe learning disabilities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide bilingual support to the Speech and Language Therapy team during referral triage, assessment, and intervention.
  • Run groups and workshops, carrying out intervention plans with the support of the therapist.
  • Deal with queries and perform administrative tasks within the special school setting.
  • Work collaboratively with a large and friendly team in a busy work environment.
About the Role

The Community Children's Therapies team provides physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language therapy for children and young people up to the age of 19 in Tower Hamlets. Our services are delivered in clinics, schools, nursery settings, children and family centers, and homes. We work closely with partner organizations to build the capacity of other professionals and parents to support children and young people with developmental difficulties.

Requirements
  • Level 2 qualifications in both maths and English (equivalent to GCSE grade 4 or above in England).
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) within current or previous roles.
  • Experience of working with children with special educational needs or Disability (SEND).
  • Experience of administration tasks within a healthcare, educational, or office setting.
