About Tops Day Nurseries

We are a purpose-built nursery that is Ofsted registered for up to 104 children, from 3 months to five years. Our nursery is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm for 50 weeks of the year (closed for 2 weeks over the Christmas period).

Job Title: Deputy Manager

This role plays a key part in supporting the Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our childcare centre. The successful candidate will ensure that we provide a safe, stimulating, and educational environment for all children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a unit and work closely with specialists in the nursery, such as Behaviour management representatives, SENCo, H&S rep, Equal opportunities etc.
  • Ensure suitable opportunities, activities, and resources are provided for all children relevant to their age/stage and development needs to external organisation requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with parents to ensure all fees are paid and that they are satisfied with the care provided. This includes operating a fees system, invoicing, collecting money, banking, and reporting on financial targets.
  • Support staff training and development, ensuring high job satisfaction and providing appropriate mentoring/coaching.
  • Assist the Nursery Manager and manage the setting in their absence.
  • Prioritise the safeguarding of all children in our care.

Qualifications and Requirements:

A minimum of a Level 3 Early Years Qualification is required. Experience in a leadership or supervisory role, strong knowledge of EYFS and Ofsted regulations, and proven experience managing teams and working closely with parents are essential.

Compensation Package:

The salary for this role is up to £15.40 per hour.
