About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Community Library Assistant. This role is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our community members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to users of Cambridgeshire Libraries, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.
  • Contribute to promoting the library offer and supporting library events and activities, including delivering rhymetime and storytime sessions.
  • Support the wider aims and objectives of the service by assisting in delivery of partnership initiatives and outreach work.
  • Deliver the UK Visa and Immigration Biometrics verification service at Cambridge Central Library, with training provided.
Requirements
  • A flair for working with people, creating a friendly and welcoming environment for diverse customers.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills, able to work under pressure and maintain efficiency.
  • Passion for public libraries and ability to promote services, with routine work and scope for creativity.
  • IT skills and ability to work with specific library systems, with training provided.
  • Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills, with ability to establish customer requirements and provide solutions.
