Position Overview

The Behavioural Support Specialist will utilize the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support within a collaborative team environment. This role is essential in delivering tailored behavioural services to individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours across various settings, including residential, educational, and vocational.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement behavioural strategies and interventions effectively.
  • Generate Positive Behaviour Support reports adhering to best practice standards.
  • Exercise independent professional judgement in assessing and intervening with clients, collaborating with multidisciplinary team members.
  • Foster positive working relationships within the team, ensuring clear communication through verbal skills and professional documentation.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings as required.
  • Contribute to the assessment process for new client referrals.
  • Provide behavioural guidance and support to families, caregivers, and other professionals.
  • Handle complex information and sensitive situations, including exposure to distressing behaviours.
