Job Summary

The Health and Safety Partnership is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Health and Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading and implementing our health and safety management system, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards, and driving a culture of safety excellence throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive health and safety management system, aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on health and safety policies and procedures, and ensure that all employees understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with department heads to integrate health and safety into business operations and decision-making processes.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee knowledge and skills in health and safety.
  • Monitor and report on health and safety performance metrics, and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Hold or be working towards CMIOSH status.
  • Education to degree level in a relevant subject, such as occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related field.
  • NEBOSH Diploma level or equivalent preferred.
  • Recognized auditing qualification in 45001 preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing and maintaining ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Knowledge of COMAH regulations and working environments.
  • Additional knowledge and/or qualifications in associated environmental and quality disciplines would be beneficial.
