About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Sleep Specialist to join our team at Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Hospital. As a key member of our Respiratory Physiology department, you will play a vital role in providing expert care to patients with respiratory and sleep disorders.

Main Responsibilities
  1. To perform and analyse sleep diagnostic tests without supervision, ensuring accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans for patients.
  2. To lead in teaching/training junior staff in sleep studies, CPAP, and NIV, as well as managing students undertaking apprenticeships.
  3. To set up and troubleshoot adult patients on CPAP, Noninvasive ventilation (NIV), and Tracheostomy invasive ventilation (TIV) without supervision.
  4. To deliver teaching/training and general advice on all sleep studies, CPAP, and NIV to junior staff, the wider multidisciplinary team, and externally where required.
  5. To actively participate in Sleep & Ventilation led Outpatient clinics under supervision of the duty Sleep & Ventilation Consultant.
  6. To assist in liaising with service and maintenance contractors to resolve day-to-day issues or problems related to ventilator patients.
  7. To actively assist in managing junior staff in development, training, performance appraisals, and recruitment and selection processes within the Sleep & Ventilation department.

Working Pattern

This is a full-time position, requiring flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends, as part of our on-call rota.
