About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Clinical Physiologist (Band 5) in the Respiratory Physiology service at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
The successful applicant will primarily be based in lung function on the St Mary's Hospital site and the Sleep Centre at Charing Cross Hospital.
As a Clinical Physiologist, you will be responsible for performing standard lung function tests, including spirometry, gas transfer, and lung volume measurements on our diverse patient population.
You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills in further lung function tests, such as skin allergy tests, capillary blood gases, and field exercise tests.
When working in the Sleep Centre, you will be responsible for analysing respiratory sleep studies and CPAP monitoring clinics.
Main Duties
The postholder must be reliable, accurate, and maintain a high professional standard in their work.
The information obtained from lung function tests is used to assign a diagnosis of disease and to identify treatment regimes.
The postholder is also responsible for the maintenance and calibration of all equipment, including therapeutic/diagnostic equipment issued for use in patients' homes.
