Job Title: Children's Social Worker
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced qualified Social Worker to manage a caseload of child in need, child protection, and children in care. The successful candidate will be based in Runcorn and will also cover the Halton area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage an allocated social work caseload, assessing the needs of children and young people, and determining an appropriate level of intervention and service provision.
- Ensure the needs and wishes of children are fully addressed in the assessment and planning process, with evidence of children and young people's participation.
- Share responsibility for planned intervention and service provision with partners, including statutory meetings and other planned meetings as necessary.
- Liaise with designated line manager and comply with service requirements regarding supervision, continuous professional development, and attendance at formal training.
- Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time, commensurate with the grade of the job.
Essential Criteria:
- Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.
- Proven experience working within an Integrated Hospital Discharge Team, with the ability to hit the ground running.
- Ability to manage a complex caseload and make sound decisions quickly and effectively.
- Excellent communication, assessment, and organisational skills, with a commitment to collaborative working.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Safeguarding Adults procedures.
- Proficiency in using IT systems, including knowledge of Eclipse (desirable).
- Full UK driving license and access to a car for work purposes.
