Pension Scheme Governance Role

Shorebrook Partners, a leading Infrastructure and Construction Industry player, is seeking an experienced Pension Scheme Governance Specialist to join their team in Herts or London.

About the Role:

  • Provide expert governance support to the Trustee Board as part of our pension scheme.
  • Ensure effective pension scheme governance and oversee compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Manage trustee communications and activities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Organise quarterly trustee and admin sub-committee meetings, including agendas and documentation.
  2. Act as the primary contact between the Trustee Board, advisors, and the company on operational matters.
  3. Address trustee, member, and advisor queries promptly with technical guidance.
  4. Conduct quarterly reviews to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
  5. Review funding and investment performance, summarising key insights for trustee consideration.
  6. Collaborate with the finance team on the scheme's annual report and statutory compliance.
  7. Facilitate the annual trustee board effectiveness review and implement improvements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Pension Scheme Manager or Pension Secretary with in-house expertise.
  • Strong understanding of pension scheme governance, compliance, and trustee responsibilities.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented, and reliable professional.
  • Relevant certifications in pensions management, governance, or financial services.

Day-to-Day Activities:

  • Organising meetings, addressing queries, reviewing compliance, collaborating with the finance team, and facilitating trustee board effectiveness reviews.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary of £72,000 - 90,000 per annum, pro rata to 3 days a week.
