Job Summary

The UK Publicity Manager will be responsible for developing and executing publicity campaigns for designated Universal theatrical releases. This role requires a strong understanding of the UK media landscape and the ability to devise innovative marketing strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement publicity campaigns from conception to final delivery.
  • Manage the talent schedules for each junket and lead talent activity at premieres.
  • Collaborate with outside PR agencies and suppliers to ensure successful campaign execution.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members to promote professional growth and development.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with various media outlets, including print, broadcast, and online platforms.
  • Lead on content creator initiatives and develop excellent relationships across the influencer landscape.
  • Manage events, including screenings and press trips, to promote Universal theatrical releases.
  • Manage the budget on designated releases and work closely with marketing managers to ensure strategic direction is successfully implemented.
Campaign Development
  • Work closely with the Head of Publicity to develop a strategic publicity plan for each designated Universal theatrical title.
  • Organize and facilitate kick-off brainstorms to ensure each film has a strong raft of creative ideas specific to its objectives and strategy.
  • Pitch access on productions and build effective working relationships across marketing, promotions, and sales.
Budget Management
  • Manage the budget on designated theatrical releases and work to maintain budget reconciliation.
  • Take a lead role in supplier negotiations to ensure successful campaign execution.
Communication and Reporting
  • Host regular team updates to ensure the publicity team is generating fresh and relevant ideas.
  • Communicate and work with UK production companies and filmmakers from production onwards.
  • Report back on status and ensure regular reports are available on each title.
Creative and Innovation
  • Ensure all communication going out is within strategy and guidelines.
  • Proactively ensure the publicity team delivers campaigns that encompass all areas of media.
  • Seek out new and different approaches and ideas to bring freshness to each film.
Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of publicity and UK media, both traditional and emerging.
  • Ability to devise and execute innovative marketing campaigns.
  • Demonstrated theatrical publicity experience coupled with a track record of achievement.
  • In-depth understanding of digital media and influencer marketing with extensive experience managing publicity and influencer agencies.
  • Strong experience ideating and producing events, including screenings, junkets, and film premieres.
