Job Title: Energy Performance Engineer

ABM is a leading provider of integrated facility services, striving for a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable world. As an Energy Performance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering a robust energy efficiency programme in line with the ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems Standard.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with UK and European legislation, including key schemes such as the UK Emissions Trading Scheme, Climate Change Agreements, and Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme.
  • Deliver energy awareness workshops to all Spirit departments as required.
  • Attend Environmental Working Groups to review energy performance and prepare supporting information slides.
  • Provide various energy and water reports, including monthly reports detailing energy management and compliance, fortnightly risk notifications, and Energy Governance Reports.
  • Chair weekly operational and monthly strategic energy management meetings, preparing supporting materials.
  • Maintain and develop a Register of Opportunities to identify and review energy projects.
  • Support local environmental agencies and Utility Regulator as needed.
  • Support the client with energy procurement and management of energy suppliers, including attendance at quarterly review meetings.
  • Attend seminars and consultation workshops on behalf of the client.
  • Manage energy and water budgets, including PO raising, bill validation, and invoice management.
  • Develop and maintain energy standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all activities.
  • Support customer initiatives that could lead to longer-term benefits for both the customer and ABM.
Requirements:
  • Post-qualification engineering experience across different industrial sectors operating within a regulated environment.
  • NEBOSH level safety qualification.
  • Strong and sustainable relationships with clients, suppliers, and sub-contractors.
  • Flexibility, reliability, responsibility, and calmness in a crisis.
  • Willingness to continue professional development and develop the role.
  • Willingness to undergo and provide training/coaching in line with organisational philosophy.
