Job Title: Energy and Sustainability Engineer

ABM, a leading provider of integrated facility services, is seeking an experienced Energy and Sustainability Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving our commitment to a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable world.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a robust energy efficiency programme/management system in line with ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems Standard.
  • Ensure compliance with UK Emissions Trading Scheme, Climate Change Agreements, Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting, and Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme.
  • Deliver energy awareness workshops to all departments as required.
  • Attend monthly Environmental Working Groups to review energy performance and prepare supporting information slides/materials.
  • Provide various energy and water reports, including monthly reports, fortnightly risk notifications, and monthly Energy Governance Reports.
  • Manage data to ensure timely and accurate corporate and legal reporting requirements.
  • Chair fortnightly operational and monthly strategic energy management meetings and prepare supporting materials.
  • Maintain and develop a Register of Opportunities to identify and review energy projects.
  • Collaborate with local environmental agencies and Utility Regulator as needed.
  • Support clients with energy procurement and management of energy suppliers.
  • Attend seminars and consultation workshops on behalf of clients.
  • Manage energy and water budgets, including PO raising, bill validation, and invoice management.
  • Develop and maintain energy standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all activities.
  • Support customer initiatives that could lead to longer-term benefits.
  • Address performance and quality standards in a timely manner.

Requirements:
  • 5 years post-qualification engineering experience across different industrial sectors.
  • Health and safety qualified to NEBOSH level.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong and sustainable relationships with clients, suppliers, and sub-contractors.
  • Flexible, reliable, responsible, and calm in a crisis.
