Job Summary

Synapri is seeking a highly skilled Linux Storage Engineer to join our Engineering function. As a key member of our Linux Engineering team, you will be responsible for the support and evolution of our Linux estate and storage platforms.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a modern working environment and be part of a growing team. As a Linux Storage Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting and evolving our Linux estate and storage platforms
  • Working closely with our product owners, user engagement teams, and key stakeholders to translate user needs into technical solutions
  • Collaborating with our team to drive forward the design and delivery of secure capabilities that will transform our services

Key Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience with Linux related technologies, including installation and system administration tasks
  • Exposure to storage solutions, such as Ceph, with experience in management and upgrade tasks
  • Experience with ansible automation and Linux scripting languages, such as Bash or Python
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities and an eye for detail
  • Familiarity with common services, applications, and protocols, such as HTTPS, SSH, DNS, NTP, or SSL
  • Familiarity with Agile/DevOps working practices within a similarly skilled technical team

Desirable Skills

Experience with open-source monitoring tools, such as Nagios or Zabbix, and source control would be beneficial. Previous experience working in government is also desirable.

Clearance Requirements

The candidate must have SC clearance and be willing to undertake DV clearance upon appointment.
