About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Storage Systems Engineer to join our Engineering function at Synapri. As a key member of our Linux Engineering team, you will be responsible for the support and evolution of our Linux estate and storage platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise in Linux related technologies, including installation and system administration tasks.
  • Manage and upgrade storage solutions, including Ceph.
  • Develop and implement automation using Ansible.
  • Design and implement secure Linux storage solutions.
  • Collaborate with product owners, user engagement teams, and stakeholders to translate user needs into technical solutions.
  • Work productively with minimal supervision, both alone and in collaboration with the team and other departments.

Requirements:

  • Experience with Linux related technologies, including installation and system administration tasks.
  • Experience with storage solutions, including Ceph.
  • Experience with Ansible automation.
  • Experience with Linux scripting languages, such as Bash or Python.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with common services, applications, and protocols, such as SSH, DNS, NTP, or SSL.
  • Familiarity with Agile/DevOps working practices.

Desirable Skills:

  1. Experience with open-source monitoring tools, such as Nagios or Zabbix.
  2. Experience with source control.
  3. Previous experience working in Government.

Clearance Requirements:

The successful candidate must have SC clearance and be willing to undergo DV clearance upon appointment.
