About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Systems Administrator to join our Technology-Assisted Lifelong Learning (TALL) unit at the University of Oxford. As a key member of our online learning team, you will be responsible for maintaining the servers, systems, and applications that support our online course delivery, as well as providing tier three technical support to students, tutors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and administer Linux servers and systems to ensure high availability and performance
  • Provide technical support to students, tutors, and staff via phone, email, and in-person
  • Administer and maintain the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), a customized version of Moodle
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure seamless integration of new features and applications
  • Develop and implement technical solutions to improve the overall user experience

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced IT professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional technical support and services. You will have a strong background in Linux system administration, web application support, and technical support. You will be comfortable communicating with non-technical stakeholders and have excellent problem-solving skills.
