About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Newcastle Adult Community Mental Health Team as a Mental Health Practitioner. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessments, triage, and duty work, working closely with our multi-disciplinary team to ensure consistency and quality in our triaging process.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to our Assessment Team and play a pivotal role in ensuring that our service users have access to the treatment they require as swiftly as possible after referral.

The successful candidate will also act as a duty professional on a rotational basis, providing support for service users not in crisis and liaising with other professionals to ensure high-quality, gold-standard care and support.

As part of our team, you will work alongside experienced professionals, including Psychiatrists, Community Mental Health Nurses, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, and Occupational Therapists, to deliver exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting assessments and developing care plans for service users
  • Triage and managing referrals, working closely with our multi-disciplinary team
  • Acting as a duty professional, providing support and interventions for service users not in crisis

Person Specification

  • A qualified or registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Social Worker (minimum diploma level or equivalent qualification)
  • Experience of working therapeutically in community settings
  • Knowledge of various approaches to mental health assessment

Salary and Benefits
