The Catchments and Coasts Research Group at the University of Lincoln is seeking a highly motivated Post-Doctoral Research Associate to join their team as a Sustainable Riverscape Manager. This exciting opportunity is part of the GCBC-funded project Sustainable Riverscape Management for Resilient Riverine Communities.

The project aims to develop evidence-based floodplain management practices that increase eco-geomorphological diversity while improving sustainable resource use for local communities. You will collaborate with researchers and stakeholders from various disciplines, including ecology, geography, and social sciences.

Your key responsibilities will include characterizing land use and change, hydrological modeling under climate change scenarios, hydro-morphological assessment of river networks, and quantifying ecosystem services. You will also need to collaborate with partners dealing with field surveys and studying local riverine communities' perceptions and values.

To succeed in this role, you will hold a PhD or equivalent in Physical Geography, Environmental Science, or a related discipline, with a track record of research in hydrology and/or fluvial geomorphology. Experience with numerical modeling, Geographical Information Systems, and working across spatial scales is highly desirable.
