We are looking for a talented individual to join our team as a Sustainable Riverscape Manager. As a Post-Doctoral Research Associate, you will play a crucial role in the GCBC-funded project Sustainable Riverscape Management for Resilient Riverine Communities.

This project aims to enhance the livelihoods of local communities by developing evidence-based floodplain management practices that increase eco-geomorphological diversity while promoting sustainable resource use. You will collaborate with researchers and stakeholders from various disciplines, including ecology, geography, and social sciences.

Your key responsibilities will include characterizing land use and change, hydrological modeling under climate change scenarios, hydro-morphological assessment of river networks, and quantifying ecosystem services. You will also need to collaborate with partners dealing with field surveys and studying local riverine communities' perceptions and values.

To succeed in this role, you will hold a PhD or equivalent in Physical Geography, Environmental Science, or a related discipline, with a track record of research in hydrology and/or fluvial geomorphology. Experience with numerical modeling, Geographical Information Systems, and working across spatial scales is highly desirable.
