Clinical Pharmacist Progression Post

Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join our team in providing and developing an efficient and comprehensive pharmaceutical service for patients. The successful candidate will work with the Pharmacy Team to support advanced pharmacists in the implementation of medicines management plans and be professionally accountable for any pharmacy function for which they assume responsibility.

The initial banding of the postholder will depend on past experience and/or completion of a conversion competency document. The ideal candidate will have a Vocational Masters degree in Pharmacy or recognised equivalent, pre-registration training and experience, and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

The post holder will participate in our training rotation providing a wide variety of experience including surgical, acute admissions and emergency medicine, orthopaedics, and pediatrics. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a large team, and have a clear understanding of the legal and professional requirements of a Pharmacist.

Main duties of the job

  1. Participate in the training rotation providing a wide variety of experience.
  2. Support advanced pharmacists in the implementation of medicines management plans.
  3. Be professionally accountable for any pharmacy function for which they assume responsibility.

Person specification

  • Vocational Masters degree in Pharmacy or recognised equivalent.
  • Pre-registration training and experience.
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Good working knowledge of therapeutics of common disease states and frequently used therapeutic regimes.
  • Good all-round practical clinical pharmacy and medicines management skills.
