Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our team and support our research programme in progressive neurological conditions, specifically Huntington's disease. The successful candidate will work closely with our Head of PNC Research Programme to investigate aggression and associated risk within HD populations, including developing a way to measure aggression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide research assistance to the Head of PNC Research Programme
  • Contribute to literature reviews and database searches
  • Assist with the setup of a high-quality project, including participant recruitment and data collection
  • Manage data and conduct supervised analysis using appropriate qualitative analysis or IT and statistical programmes
  • Support and contribute to project outputs and attend conferences

Requirements

  • A 2:1 or above in a health-related subject with a dissertation by research, along with experience of conducting literature reviews and basic research design
  • Experience of qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis techniques and understanding of research governance requirements
  • An appreciation of data protection and experience of managing confidential and sensitive information
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written), including some experience of giving presentations
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams, and awareness of NVivo and SPSS
