About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Patient Catering Supervisor to join our team at Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our housekeeping team, you will be responsible for supervising a team of housekeepers and ensuring the smooth provision of patient food and drink services.

Main Responsibilities

  • Catering: Ensure the smooth provision of patient food and drink services, with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Communication/Customer Service: Provide excellent communication and customer service skills to patients, guests, clinical staff, and work colleagues.
  • Audits and Monitoring: Monitor food hygiene, health, and safety policies, and provide support for the housekeeping team.
  • People Management: Effectively line manage a team of housekeepers, providing daily assistance, training, rostering, appraisals, and career development.

Person Specification

  • Essential:
    • Level 3 Food Safety Management
    • HACCP Knowledge
    • Knowledge of full range of work procedures, practices, and equipment for a catering service
  • Desirable:
    • Knowledge of Health and Safety, Food Safety Standards, HACCP, Allergens, COSHH, and Infection Prevention strategies
