Catering and Kitchen Supervisor Job Description

Tatte Bakery seeks an exceptional Catering and Kitchen Supervisor to lead our catering kitchen's high-volume culinary operations. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and inspire a team of up to 20 members to deliver an exceptional client experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the General Manager in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Engage with clients and instill great service standards within the team.
  • Contribute to people performance management skills and exhibit excellent knowledge of standard operating procedures.
  • Lead or support the GM in executing shift tasks, routines, and facility upkeep, as well as ongoing training on product specifications and Tatte's story.
  • Uphold Tatte brand and visual standards across all business areas.
  • Maintain food safety by adhering to processes and standards and resolving deviations promptly.
  • Communicate new product, service, and operational information effectively and accurately.
  • Ensure food, labor, and controllable costs are consistently within company guidelines.
  • Assist the GM in managing Catering Kitchen administrative requirements.
Working Conditions / Essential Functions:
  • Able to work flexible schedules based on business needs, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as emergency responsiveness.
  • Capable of working eight to ten hour-plus shifts, standing, sitting, squatting, or walking for extended periods, and reading.
  • Ability to grasp, reach overhead, push, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
Position Requirements:
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • High integrity and professionalism.
  • High School education or equivalent required.
Preferred Skills:
  • At least six months of experience as a supervisor in a high-volume, full-service restaurant or catering production facility.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Previous experience with UltiPro, Toast - POS System, CrunchTime/TeamworX.
  • ServSafe and Allergen Certifications preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Competitive hourly pay rate ranging from $24-$27/hour+, depending on experience.
  • Paid vacation and sick time after one year of full-time service.
