Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cancer Pathway Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Cancer Services. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the cancer teams by navigating and tracking patients along their pathway, co-ordinating all hospital appointments, investigations through to treatment.

Main Responsibilities

The Cancer Pathway Coordinator will be responsible for:
  • Using the cancer management information system for recording clinical and performance data
  • Proactively managing waiting times for individual cancer patients
  • Supporting service improvement to streamline the patient journey and improve the quality of patient care
  • Co-ordinating MDT meetings in accordance with the National Cancer Peer Review standards
  • Evaluating and contributing to the development of this role and the role of Cancer Pathway Administrator

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess excellent IT skills, knowledge of medical terminology and will have a good working knowledge of cancer pathways and cancer waiting times within an acute Trust setting. They will also be a confident communicator with the ability to liaise accurately with a wide range of different professional groups (both clinical and non-clinical).
