Highways Maintenance Apprentice Opportunities at FM Conway


FM Conway is seeking skilled individuals to join our Term Maintenance division in Westminster as Highway Maintenance Apprentices. This role offers a permanent position with full training and a clear career pathway.


About the Role


The successful candidate will work in a supported learning environment to develop skills, knowledge, and behaviours required to become a successful Highway Maintenance Apprentice. They will learn about highway maintenance, repair, and associated traffic management.


Key Responsibilities:


Participate in planned works and scheme works as part of a gang carrying out operations such as paving and kerb laying.


Undertake formal training to be confident in carrying out tasks like kerb laying, paving, sett laying, and duct laying.


Work under the mason's instruction to complete daily/weekly targets.


Assist in collecting materials required for works.


Carry out all works with care and attention to health and safety, using the appropriate tools and safeguards.


Learn to undertake pedestrian management as instructed.


Requirements:


Candidates must have GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English. Strong communication skills and enthusiasm to learn and develop are essential.
