About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team of professionals working with students with Special Educational Needs in Boston.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to develop and implement tailored Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, promoting academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Assist with classroom management and preparation of learning materials, ensuring a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students in developing social and communication skills, fostering a sense of community and belonging.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN needs is highly desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are preferred.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience are essential qualities for this role.
  • An updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one) are required.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is essential.
