Foster Care Specialist

Barnardo's is an independent fostering agency with a strong presence in the UK, providing support to children in need of foster placements. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Worker to join our team on a Full Time basis.
The ideal candidate will have a professional Social Work qualification and SWE registration, as well as experience in Family Placement, Child Protection, or work with Looked After Children. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling them to build strong relationships with foster carers, local authorities, and other professionals.
Key responsibilities include assessing prospective foster carers, attending multi-agency meetings, and delivering training in group and individual settings. The successful candidate will contribute to the recruitment, preparation, and assessment of new foster carers, while maintaining a high standard of service and support for existing carers.
We offer a competitive salary range of £38,000 - £42,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including 26 days annual leave, holiday pay, and access to a Group Personal Pension scheme.
