Fostering Practice Manager Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fostering Practice Manager to lead our Pan-Wales Fostering Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service, ensuring effective service delivery, and working collaboratively with foster parents, children, and young people across Wales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of supervising social workers to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet the sufficiency needs of local authorities.
  • Work collaboratively with foster parents, children, and young people to ensure their needs are met.
  • Oversee the recruitment, approval, and placement of foster parents and children.
  • Develop and implement training and development programs for the team and foster parents.

Requirements:

  • Significant post-qualifying experience of fostering social care practice.
  • Experience of working with children, young people, and foster parents.
  • Familiarity with child protection systems and processes.
  • Ability to manage a team and ensure high standards of performance.
  • Social Worker qualification and registration with Social Care Wales.
