About the Role


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical First Assistant to join our friendly, welcoming and expert multidisciplinary theatre team. As an integral part of our orthopaedic department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standard of patient care and treatment.


Main Responsibilities



  • As a Surgical First Assistant, you will work closely with our experienced theatre team to ensure seamless patient care and treatment.
  • You will be responsible for preparing patients for surgery, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and supporting the surgical team throughout procedures.
  • Your expertise will be invaluable in helping us maintain the highest standards of patient care and satisfaction.

Requirements



  • A Registered Nurse or Registered Operating Department Practitioner with a Surgical First Assistant qualification.
  • Proven experience of working in a theatre as a scrub practitioner, with a strong understanding of orthopaedic procedures.
  • Sound knowledge of Health and Safety/Risk management within the operating department.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly and professionally with colleagues and patients.
