About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mental Health Practitioner to join our team in Manchester. As a Crisis Care Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people with mental health needs and their families.

Working collaboratively with our core CAMHS and other Mental Health Services, you will conduct psycho-social and risk assessments, identify strategies and creative interventions to help children and young people participate in normal family and community activities, and facilitate positive outcomes in relation to young people's mental health needs.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new, award-winning service that is child-centered, needs-led, responsive, accessible, and flexible. You will work across the Rapid Response and Home Intensive treatment team, and your contributions will be instrumental in the success and future developments of the pathway.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct psycho-social and risk assessments to identify strategies and creative interventions to support children and young people with mental health needs.
  • Work collaboratively with children, young people, and their families to develop and implement care plans that promote positive outcomes.
  • Provide evidence-based assessments, formulations, and care plans that are tailored to the individual needs of each child and young person.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with other Mental Health Services, Acute and/or Specialist Hospitals, the Police, Education, and Social Care to ensure seamless care pathways.
  • Participate in regular supervision and training to maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills in child mental health and relevant legislation.
