Job Overview

First Class Support is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Autism Support Specialist to provide tailored, one-to-one support to students with autistic spectrum. The successful candidate will possess an in-depth knowledge of autism and be able to draw from their experience when supporting individuals on the autistic spectrum.

The role involves providing first-class support to students studying higher education courses across the UK. Our mentors are passionate about making a difference to the lives of students and pride themselves on delivering high-quality support that addresses the unique challenges faced by students with autistic spectrum.

About the Role

You will work closely with students to develop strategies to overcome barriers to learning, including anxiety and stress situations, concentration difficulties, time management, prioritizing workload, and creating a suitable work-life balance. You will also possess excellent communication skills and be able to build strong relationships with students, academics, and other support staff.

As a Mentor for Students with Autistic Spectrum, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students and contribute to their academic success. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual who possesses:

  • An undergraduate degree (2:1 or above) in a relevant field.
  • Comprehensive training in adult autism.
  • Experience of working with students with autistic spectrum.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students, academics, and other support staff.

We offer a competitive salary of £30 per hour, paid weekly, and flexible working patterns. As a self-employed support worker, you will have the autonomy to manage your own schedule and choose the hours that suit you best. Additionally, you will receive comprehensive training and ongoing support to ensure you excel in your role as a Higher Education Autism Mentor.
