Job Overview:

Doucecroft School is a vibrant and dynamic specialist school for children and young people with autism and additional complex needs. We are seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team, providing support for pupils' communication ability and participating in the continuing development of these services.

The successful candidate will have a recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy, theoretical knowledge and practical experience of working with people who have severe learning disabilities and/or autism, and a confident, caring, and proactive attitude.

About the Position:

This is a 1-year fixed term role, providing full-time cover for a Maternity Leave. The post holder will be responsible for assessing new pupils and reviewing existing pupils' communication needs, developing communication targets, delivering individual and group therapy, attending Multi-disciplinary team meetings, and supervising less experienced staff.

Requirements:
  • A recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Theoretical knowledge and practical experience of working with people who have severe learning disabilities and/or autism
  • Supervision experience (highly advantageous)
  • A confident, caring, and proactive attitude
