Job Title: Cardiac Nurse Practitioner Lead

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Cardiac Nurse Practitioner to lead our team in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the strategic and operational management of the Cardiothoracic Directorate.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a world-class centre, delivering excellent evidence-based care to our patients. As a Cardiac Nurse Practitioner Lead, you will be responsible for leading progressive nursing practice, contributing to the clinical governance agenda, and developing and implementing evidence-based approaches to practice.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Act as a clinical expert, leading progressive nursing practice and contributing to the strategic and operational management of the Cardiothoracic Directorate.
  2. Work with clinical colleagues to provide information, advice, and support to patients with complex cardiac conditions.
  3. Identify and initiate change in response to service, taking a professional and clinical lead in the development of evidence-based approaches to practice.
  4. Lead on strategic projects within the directorate in relation to the Cardiology Ward/ACCU.
  5. Be responsible for the management and development of senior nursing teams on the ward and through them all members of staff.
  6. Provide supervision and training to staff and students, developing nursing skills, and ensuring that policies and procedures are implemented and evaluated.
Person Specification

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Cardiac Nurse Practitioner who has:

  • 1st level registration
  • Post-registration qualification or equivalent experience
  • Considerable experience in the speciality
  • Leadership experience at band 7 or above
  • Knowledge and experience of change management
  • Postgraduate education
  • Management course
  • Ability to motivate self and others
  • Team player
  • Professional attitude
  • Good communicator
