Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a leading FMCG manufacturing company in the Haydock area. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical maintenance of all production equipment, ensuring that any issues are rectified promptly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on production equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct fault-finding and repair of mechanical and electrical issues on production equipment.
  • Participate in planned preventative maintenance to minimize equipment failures.
  • Liaise with external contractors to ensure that maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Collaborate with the Site Head Engineer to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure that all equipment meets company and legal health and safety requirements.
Requirements
  • Time-served Engineer with a certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in fault-finding, repair, and general maintenance of machinery, hydraulics, electrics, and other production-associated systems.
  • Production environment experience essential, ideally in a FMCG organization.
  • Competent to attempt most aspects of mechanical and electrical engineering with little direction.
  • Experienced with control systems and finding potential faults.
  • Able to read schematic drawings and diagnose faults quickly and accurately.
  • Experienced with all aspects of pneumatics and hydraulics.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £44,000 - £45,000 per annum, rising following probation. Additionally, we provide a range of benefits, including high availability for overtime, medical care, employee benefit schemes, and discount plans.
