Mental Health Classroom Assistant

The Academics school in Newbury seeks a dedicated individual to provide support to students with Complex Learning Disabilities and significant Mental, Social and Emotional Needs.
The Student Mental Health Assistant will work closely with children who display challenging behaviour and have mental health difficulties, providing individualised support throughout the school day. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience working alongside qualified therapists, behaviour consultants, and psychologists.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing high-quality, continuous support to students
- Working on a 1-1 basis with students and in small groups
- Assisting students with challenging behaviour and mental health difficulties
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent behaviour management skills
- Education surrounding Special Educational Needs
- Experience in either a professional or home environment
The successful applicant will be offered a competitive salary of £85 per day, working Monday to Friday, 8:30-3:30.
