Senior Resource Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Resource Manager to join our team at FirstGroup. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the real-time tactical delivery of traincrew resourcing, ensuring efficient service recovery during normal service requirements and times of disruption.
Main Responsibilities- Ensure the delivery of an efficient planned and real-time resourcing of traincrews to the train service plan.
- Support and advise the Rail Operations Centre (ROC) team on current resourcing capabilities in line with the requirements for the service.
- Work closely with the ROC team to ensure the implementation of line of route contingency plans and the use of shuttle services.
- Ensure accurate and timely communication between the ROC and Senior Resource Manager/Duty Resource Manager locations during normal and disrupted operations, communicating contingency plans to SRM/DRM's and ensuring that these plans are implemented.
- Provide on-shift management of the Duty Resource Manager team, ensuring that all DRM's work to the highest standards and display the company's values and behaviours.
- Provide the Centre Manager with feedback on DRM performance, focusing on personal and company objectives that will enhance engagement with staff and the business needs.
- Assist in the creation and compilation of long-term service contingency plans, ensuring that regular efficiency reviews are undertaken with regards to resourcing.
- Carry out reviews of operational incidents and implement resourcing recommendations.
- Provide data in relation to train crew resourcing, highlighting uncovered work and supporting the DRM team in order to provide coverage and reduce risk to train service.
- Monitor Bugle and Trust systems, ensuring correct attribution and assisting with the development, implementation, and monitoring of Performance Improvement Plans.
- Provide cover for DRM desks at Basingstoke station as required.
- Send out ESR information to DRM locations and/or electronic traincrew notice boards.
- Attend Incident Line Reviews (ILR's) and Emergency Workshops (EWAT's) as required and carry out necessary actions to protect train service.
- The role requires strategic decision-making in a pressurised operations environment.
- The role requires the individual to work with key stakeholders to continually plan and resource the train service to achieve the most efficient and effective utilisation of traincrew resources, including service disruption planning and resourcing.
- Point of advice for DRM decisions regarding train crew and the implementation of line of route contingency plans, including shuttle services.
- Point of advice for DRM people-related decisions around D&A policy matters and initial conduct discussions.
Basingstoke Campus, more commonly known as the ROC, is a state-of-the-art Operating Centre and training facility located a short walk from Basingstoke station. It is a shared facility with Network Rail and is the hub for all operations across the Wessex region. Working PatternWorking an average of 42 hours per week over an average of 5 days, with a variety of shifts, including early turns, late turns, Sunday shifts, spare turns, and depot days.
