Role Overview:
Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies is seeking an experienced professional to oversee the operational functions of the centre. As a key member of the senior management team, you will report directly to the Director and be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the centre.

About the Role:
The Home Bursar will oversee all operational functions, including Estates, Catering, Conferencing, Accommodation, Human Resources, Gardens, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Health and Safety, and Security. This role requires excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with a strong service ethos and customer focus. You will have experience of managing a range of operational functions, staff, and resources, as well as generating new business leads and cultivating client relationships.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all operational functions, including Estates, Catering, Conferencing, Accommodation, Human Resources, Gardens, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Health and Safety, and Security.
  • Work with Fellows and the Bursary team to develop commercial conferences and events.
  • Ensure that necessary processes and structures are in place to support growth.
  • Develop and agree future strategy and budgets for the centre's domestic provision, in consultation with the Bursarial Committee.

  • Experience of managing a range of operational functions, staff, and resources.
  • Ability to generate new business leads and cultivate client relationships.
  • Effective relationship-builder, skilled at leading people, and engaging with staff, students, and contractors.

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum.
