About the Role

A dynamic opportunity has arisen for a skilled Second Chef to join our Porthaven Care Homes team. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality food services to our residents, working closely with the Head Chef to ensure exceptional standards are met.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and cooking nutritious meals for residents, taking into account dietary requirements and preferences
  • Assisting with menu planning and food ordering to ensure efficient kitchen operations
  • Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety protocols
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives

We are seeking a motivated and experienced chef who is passionate about delivering exceptional food services. If you have a strong background in commercial kitchen management and a commitment to excellence, we would love to hear from you.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen environment, preferably within a care home setting
  • City & Guild/NVQ (or equivalent) in culinary arts or a related field
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene
