About the Role

A 2nd chef position at Porthaven Care Homes offers the opportunity to work as part of a small, well-resourced kitchen team to serve delicious, well-balanced meals to our residents. As a key member of the team, you will contribute to their overall positive experience of living in the Home.

Responsibilities include providing a high-quality food service, responsive to residents' needs, and working closely with the Head Chef to deliver restaurant-standard food without split shifts and long weekends. Typical working hours are between 8am and 6pm with alternate weekends.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have experience in a commercial kitchen environment, ideally within a care home setting. You should hold City & Guild/NVQ (or equivalent) and be confident conducting kitchen duties, including catering for special dietary needs.

Additionally, you must be able to conduct kitchen duties safely and efficiently, and be willing to work as part of a team to achieve a high standard of food service. Successful candidates are subject to satisfactory references and a DBS check, and must be authorised to work in the UK.
